Choose the right compressor oil
To minimize the risk of various kinds of troubles, it is necessary to be very careful when choosing a lubricant. Initially, the following factors will depend on the quality of the product: stability of operation and service life of the mechanism. If the oil used is of high quality, then the performance of the mechanism will be quite stable without the appearance of various unpleasant surprises.
It is necessary to use compressor oil for reciprocating compressors that is recommended directly by the manufacturer itself – air units have high requirements for the liquids poured inside.
Oil viscosity. A special indicator, its minimum value is seven units. It must be borne in mind that thanks to it, most parts are lubricated, so it should fit well on them.
Working temperature. First of all, it depends on the seasonality of oil use and directly on the characteristics of the compressor used. Usually, the product is replaced with the onset of the new season. When choosing a universal tool, a new one is poured during maintenance at the end of the specified engine performance.
How to change the compressor oil?
Machine lubrication is used only when urgently needed. According to its technical characteristics, it is completely unsuitable for air units and can harm its components.
Almost all manufacturers in the operating book prescribe the necessary requirements and recommendations regarding the product poured into the compressor. But unfortunately, some important features are not indicated in it.
It must be remembered that reciprocating compressors do not have an individual lubrication system, and lubrication occurs by capturing the required amount of oil directly from the crankcase. Therefore, the selected fluid must be poured into the piston unit slightly above the specified level. If you need to change the lubricant in a compressor of such a plan, the first step is to flush the entire container. The minimum viscous oil is poured, and the unit is turned on for 15 minutes. Then the piston head is tilted, and the filled liquid is removed.
Mixing different types of oils is strictly prohibited! Regardless of the wear and tear of the unit, it is necessary to fill it with exceptionally fresh and high-quality material.
