The GTS 2 watches are still on sale and are very successful. They combine design minimalism and a pretty decent set of technologies and features, and they are not very expensive.
Design and appearance
A thin and light body, a metal edging in three different colors (black, silver, and gold), the use of matte and glossy materials, and sloping screen edges – all create a complete design of the device.
From below, the developers used plastic, although they could have tried to make ceramics. Probably, the cost would have increased a little, but what an effect it would have been!
Designers have acted quite creatively with a single button on the device on the right. There are two influxes of metal edging as if covering the screen activation key and entering the menu. It is outwardly quite nice, and safe – it is more difficult to accidentally press the button.
As for convenience, there are no problems here, because the device is thin and light, almost not felt on the hand. And on the GTS 2, you can change the straps thanks to the use of the classic 20 mm buckle.
Gorgeous screen
Firstly, it is covered with tempered glass with rounded edges (and it also has an “oleophobic” coating, and a diamond-like coating was used there). And if on smartphones such a solution, in my opinion, is not the most successful, then on watches it is welcome. After all, on the watch, the interface does not climb into the corners of the sloping screen.
Secondly, in front of you is an AMOLED matrix with high contrast. The black color of the watch case will completely match the black background of the dials. In addition, AMOLED means bright colors and saturation.
Separately, it is worth noting the brightness of white. At the maximum level, it reaches 700 cd/m2. Most smartphones cannot boast of such parameters. And this means that the watch will display information on the screen, which is easy to read in sunny weather.
Interface and speed
The dials are drawn well, there is nothing to complain about, especially when you have a picture in front of your eyes at 341 PPI. Icons are clear and even. The notification menu looks nice: a general black background, a gray background with text and white font, and an application icon.
The speed of work lies not only in the fact that programs run quickly but also in the speed of the interface. And it uses a high screen refresh rate. Nothing slows down, and nothing freezes. Lists scroll smoothly, menus scroll quickly, without frame drops.
From the point of view of understanding the operation of the system, there are no problems. Before you are on a screen with a dial, swipe from top to bottom – a menu with mini-applications, swipe from bottom to top – notifications, and if you swipe from right to left, you will be taken to widgets. How much they are needed is the tenth question. Widgets are almost useless. The logic of the programmers was this: we have transitions up and down but what should we place on the right and left?
Functions
The Amazfit GTS 2 has a heart rate monitor that you won’t surprise anyone with today. The sensor in the GTS 2 works perfectly. Of course, on the watch, you will find a measurement of the level of oxygen in the blood. This technology began to actively appear in devices even before the story of covid.
