What Is the Bathing Oil? How Your Skin can Benefit From It?

Oil? For shower? Yes, you are not mistaken. It gently cleanses the skin while softening and moisturizing it. We will tell you why this mean is remarkable and why we recommend trying it right now.

What is bathing oil?

Externally, shower oil is almost no different from any other cosmetic oil, but at the same time, it behaves in a completely different way. It is worth adding a little water, as an oil drop turns into a delicate foam or emulsion. Cleansing the skin, brings a lot of pleasure, and then it is easily, effortlessly washed off with ordinary running water!

Composition features

When in contact with water, it behaves in a completely different way – an oily film is not formed, and the mean itself turns into a light milk and is completely washed off. The basis of such a product may be, for example, almond, sunflower oil, or grape seed oil. Surfactants already familiar to us are also added to the composition. But their concentration is not at all great, and their task is different. Surfactants are needed here not for cleansing (the oil itself dissolves and removes sebum, dust, and cosmetics), but for the oil to mix with water and be easily washed off. So, even if surfactants affect the protective barrier, oils instantly restore it. As a result, we get two in one – gentle cleansing and care. But that’s not all. In addition to water and mild surfactants, shower oils can contain:

  • Moisturizing agents (hyaluronic acid, glycerin, etc.).
  • Oils (olive, almond, shea butter, jojoba, etc.) – saturate the skin with nutrients, and soften and moisturize.
  • Essential oils – give the shower oil fragrance.

Who can use it?

It is believed that these products are only suitable for those with dry skin. This is not true. The oil can also be used by those who have oily skin prone to acne, in any case, if the packaging of the product is marked “non-comedogenic”. And for atopic skin, this is generally almost the only suitable remedy.

Main functions of bathing oil

Cleanses. It effectively cleanses the skin without disturbing the hydrolipidic mantle, but on the contrary, supports it.

Moisturizes. Due to the high concentration of moisturizing ingredients (glycerine, oils, etc.), it not only gently cleanses, but also instantly reduces skin dryness, keeping it moisturized for a long time. Shower oils are appropriate both in the hot summer when the skin is exposed to active UV radiation, and in the autumn-winter period, when it suffers from temperature changes and dry air.

Softens. The oils that make up these products (as well as any others) soften and restore the skin, making it supple and velvety. They reduce the feeling of discomfort and visibly soothes the skin, restores water balance, and keeps the skin hydrated for a long time.

How to use bathing oil?

Lather the product in your hands. Apply to damp face and body. Leave for 30-40 seconds. Wash off with warm water. You can also put the product on a washcloth or mitt, lather, and then apply it to the body.
