In addition to historical and religious sites, natural sites are no less interesting. Probably, this is the only country in the world that is so attractive in terms of tourism. Keep reading to know more about Israel.

Religious sightseeing

Many tourists, once in Jerusalem, first rush to the Western Wall. It was built near the temple rock. The Jerusalem Cathedral is built at its top. The wall is a fence made of large smooth stones. Among them, the guests leave messages to God. Most pilgrims go to the Wall just to pray.

The old town is also of great historical interest. Its territory is divided into 4 quarters. Each block is dedicated to residents of a certain religious affiliation. The Christian and Islamic Quarter is divided by the Way of Tribulation, where you can see the marks of all the stops Jesus Christ made during the Way of the Cross.

Near the city is the Mount of Olives, which also deserves attention. Once at its highest point, you can see almost the entire city. The beautiful Garden of Gethsemane is located at the foot of the site. Trees grow in it, the age of which reaches 2000 years. Near the mountain, there is also a cathedral where the parents of the Virgin Mary are buried.

Besides Jerusalem, there are other cities that have many historical sites.

The second most important city is Bethlehem. As the Bible says, this is where Jesus was born. Tourists are most attracted by the Christmas Cave.

They go to Nazareth to visit the largest temple in the Middle East – the Church of the Annunciation. The childhood and adolescence of Jesus are associated with this city, therefore, in historical terms, it is of great value.

Nature

Also in Israel, there is the Negev Desert. The local nature is completely untouched by man, which makes it especially beautiful and attractive. There are many protected areas and national parks in the capital. A peculiar atmosphere and unique climatic conditions await tourists at the Ein Gedi oasis. It will be interesting to visit the Hamat Gader nature reserve, where hot springs are bubbling.

Tel-Aviv

For youngsters who are attracted by the vibrant nightlife, bars, and colourful signage, this city is the perfect place to visit. If possible, it is better to stay here for the whole day (arrive early in the morning and leave the next day). Towards the night, tourists make their way to Orthodox places, most of which are located on the embankment or stroll along Dizengoff and Allenby streets. In the daytime, you can visit the Meymallion water park, where you can have fun on various extreme and children’s slides.

The most significant attraction is the range of sandy beaches starting in the northern part of the city and heading south towards Jaffa. The long promenade is ideal for relaxing evening walks or cycling. Be sure to visit the Neve Tzedek area. This place is considered the first Jewish quarter, which was built outside the territory of Old Jaffa. Today you can see unusual stone houses, look into galleries, clothing stores, and have a bite to eat in restaurants and cafes.
