Self-Tan. Its Peculiarities and How to Remove it?
It’s no longer frightening to make a colour choice error. Sunburn is often mentioned by beauticians and dermatologists. UV rays cause skin cell damage, which can result in not only accelerated photoaging and pigmentation, but also particular dermatoses and even cancer. The same is true for the solarium as it is for the sun. Self-tanners are a safe option since they softly impact the skin, giving it a gorgeous golden hue while causing no harm. They can also be used all year. True, these solutions have one disadvantage: they are not always easy to apply uniformly and without spots. But the beauty is that everything is easily repairable. Moreover, modern methods, which, unlike toothpaste, salt, and lemon juice, will not harm the skin, and will not provoke allergies or dehydration, dryness, and peeling.
Use scrubs
The first and most obvious way to eliminate the consequences of inept use of self-tanner is to use a scrub. Most often, it is used before applying the tinting agent, so that the tan is as even as possible, but if necessary, it can also correct small errors. The mechanism of action is elementary: it exfoliates the top layer of the epidermis, which has taken over the entire color impact. It is preferable to choose scrubs with oil – they will additionally moisturize and nourish the skin.
Apply special body oil
Concerning oil, by the way. It will also brighten the skin by several tones and level out the fake tan. Body oil (even baby oil) should be applied liberally to the affected regions, followed by a warm bath and thorough rubbing of the skin with a harsh washcloth.
Depilation cream
Although this procedure is not suggested for ladies with sensitive skin, it is an odd but extremely efficient cure for eradicating self-tanning blotches. Apply the cream in a thin layer to the pigmented region, allow for 1-2 minutes, and then rinse with water. After this operation, hydrate the skin well because depilatory lotions might cause dryness.
Enzymatic and acid peels
But enzyme or acid peels are suitable for correcting self-tanning spots on the face, neck, and décolleté. These beauty helpers loosen the upper layer of the epidermis and thereby help get rid of the keratinized, read-colored layer. Completely tan, of course, will not go away, but the skin will become noticeably lighter. In the morning after the procedure, it is necessary to use sunscreen SPF 50.
Special removers
If none of the home methods helps, it makes sense to turn to special professional tools (removers) to adjust the shade of self-tanning. They come out in the format of a gel, mousse, and cream, which should be applied to the problem area, left for a few minutes, and then rinsed thoroughly. The advantage of such products is that, in parallel with their main work, they also have a powerful moisturizing effect.
